Bit of sad news...

Gerald (Jerry) Arnold July 23, 1924-September 11, 2020 (96)

Born in Arcadia, WI to LeRoy and Rose Arnold, he was the oldest of five children (Virgil, Harvey, Nilah and Ross). His lifelong career began as a “serviceman’s helper” with the Milwaukee Gas Light Company until his retirement as a Superintendent with Wisconsin Electric. Through one of his early employments with Globe Union he met Henrietta Reinert who he married in 1947 and moved to Wauwatosa in 1955. She preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by his two children, Alan (Nancy), Lynda Daugherty (Steve) and his brother Harvey (Marge); grandchildren Justin (Michelle), Kerry Abraham(Thomas), Anna Rollner (Corey), and Sean Daugherty; as well as five great grandchildren.

Jerry maintained friendships with many of his coworkers from Wisconsin Electric long into retirement. He had a love for all things cars. Jerry was a long time member of the Corvair Club of Milwaukee, owning seven of these cars in his collection. He still owned a last year model at the time of his death.

There will be a memorial and celebration held at Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum 9400 W Donges Bay Rd at 1:00pm on Saturday October 3rd.

Health Alert for those who work on Old Cars!

My name is Marissa Krick and I work in the Outreach Department of The  Mesothelioma Center (Asbestos.com).  Auto Mechanics are at risk of developing mesothelioma, a rare cancer  caused from asbestos exposure that can take 20-50 years to develop.  Asbestos was commonly used in the production of older car parts,  including including brakes, clutches and heat seals.  Our website features extensive information on asbestos and we work  1-on-1 with individuals to help them find local doctors, treatment  centers and support groups all at no cost.  The link below has valuable  information that can help inform not just professional, but also home  mechanics of the dangers of asbestos and the steps involved if affected.    www.asbestos.com/occupations/auto-mechanics/
